I’ve worked with several web developers/designers in the past and have always found it an excruciating and time consuming task where the finished product is not what you had in mind or by the time they finally understand what you said the first time they decide it will cost you more than they quoted. You usually get a sales guy who will sell you anything you want but can’t make it happen or a tech guy that can do anything but can’t seem to understand common sense.

Let’s Begin

This is how I start with every project:

1. Getting to Know You – I always begin with our project proposal and web questionnaire. I will ask you about your future plans, your business and industry, your design preferences and more. Once I  have a good sense of who you are and what you want to do I will send you a project and pricing proposal.
2. Getting your Vision – Did you once sketch something out on an old napkin, or really like the look of that new boutique website? Are you into the vintage look? Art Deco? Clean and crisp? Perhaps you love the left-hand navigation look or the top horizontal navigation look. Do you want your site to be interactive? Whatever your desires I will work with you through an interactive design process to bring your vision to life. We then mock up some comps in Photoshop or InDesign and present you with a few different options then I will work with you to fine-tune the perfect layout!
3. Start Building – Once the final design is approved by you, we begin building your site in HTML/CSS, depending on your design. I will build your site with an eye on accessibility and current web-standards. We will also help develop your keywords and work with Google analytics to help drive more traffic to your site and test your site in current web browsers to make sure it displays well.
4. Getting Your Website Live – Finally! Go time! I will help you set up web hosting, FTP, email and even a content management system. But our work doesn’t have to stop here, we would love to help you with ongoing maintenance, e-newsletters or website updates if you are too busy to do it yourself.
